On March 4, the inauguration ceremony of the DUFE-Surrey Joint Research Center and the accompanying Academic Seminar on Frontiers of Modern Management were successfully convened at the Surrey International Institute Library, located in DUFE's Lijin Building. This new collaborative platform, jointly established by Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (DUFE) and the University of Surrey, is formally affiliated to DUFE's Surrey International Institute.
The event gathered senior representatives from both partner universities, leading experts and scholars in the modern management field, faculty and student delegates from the institute, and representatives from relevant functional divisions of DUFE. The inauguration ceremony was chaired by Professor Da Shi , Dean of Surrey International Institute.
The ceremony proceeded in an orderly sequence, featuring a comprehensive briefing on the center's preparatory work, a detailed presentation of its multi-stage development roadmap, the official announcement of the center's organizational membership, and the landmark plaque-unveiling session. The subsequent academic seminar invited distinguished disciplinary leaders from a cohort of leading domestic higher education institutions. These guests engaged in in-depth, targeted academic dialogues with Surrey International Institute's faculty, focusing on cutting-edge themes across the three core disciplines, and formally finalized the guiding framework for refining the center's specific, actionable research directions.

The establishment of the DUFE-Surrey Joint Research Center marks a new milestone in the two universities' long-standing partnership. It will further facilitate the introduction and deep integration of the University of Surrey's world-class teaching and research resources, enrich DUFE's multi-level talent cultivation system, drive the synergistic advancement of teaching and research, and significantly elevate the domestic standing and international visibility of DUFE's related disciplines.
